![]() | Prof. Dongyang LiUniversity of Alberta, Canada Dr. Dongyang Li is a Professor in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the University of Alberta, Canada, elected a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering in 2021 and a Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts in 2022. He holds a Ph.D. in Materials Physics from the University of Science and Technology Beijing and a Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering from McGill University, and completed his postdoctoral research at The Pennsylvania State University. His research interests encompass materials design, surface/interface engineering, tribology and wear control, and computational materials science; he pioneered the intrinsic property theory of materials based on electron work function and proposed the innovative frameworks of "gene-like materials engineering" and "electronic metallurgy," offering novel paradigms for the development of advanced materials. As of 2024, he has published over 530 peer-reviewed papers and serves on the editorial boards of 18 international journals. Professor Li has led more than 70 major collaborative projects, including internationally partnered initiatives and nationally significant industrial programs on material wear, with research outcomes incorporated into authoritative materials technology standards and guidelines. He has delivered keynote and plenary lectures at numerous international academic forums, and his distinguished contributions have been recognized with the 2024 Metal Physics Award from the Metallurgy and Materials Society of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum, the 2025 Airey Award (lifetime achievement award)—the highest honor in the Canadian materials and metallurgy community—and the Excellence Award from the International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM). He currently serves as Chair of the Asia-Pacific Academic Committee of the International Association of Advanced Materials. |
![]() | Prof. Xiaorong LuoChengdu University of Information Technology, China Prof. Xiaorong Luo, PhD (Postdoc), is a Member of the University Party Committee Standing Committee and Vice President of Chengdu University of Information Technology, China. She completed her postdoctoral research at the University of Cambridge and holds a doctoral degree. She is a Distinguished Professor of the National High-Level Talent Program, a recipient of the National Outstanding Youth Science Fund, an Elsevier Chinese Highly Cited Researcher, and a recipient of the Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University of the Ministry of Education. Additionally, she is honored as an Outstanding Expert with Outstanding Contributions to Sichuan Province and a March 8th Red Banner Pacesetter of Sichuan Province. Her long-term research focuses on power semiconductor devices and integrated technologies. She has been awarded 2 Second Prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, as well as 4 provincial and ministerial-level science and technology awards including the First Prize of Sichuan Science and Technology Progress Award, the Second Prize of Sichuan Technological Invention Award, the Second Prize of Ministry of Education Natural Science Award, and the Second Prize of National Defense Technological Invention Award. She has presided over 3 key research projects and more than 30 other national and provincial scientific research projects. She has published over 140 SCI-indexed papers. As the first inventor, she has obtained 6 authorized US invention patents and more than 100 authorized Chinese invention patents. She has authored 4 academic monographs and textbooks, developed 3 high-quality courses including national high-quality open online courses and Sichuan provincial high-quality courses, and undertaken 2 Sichuan provincial teaching reform research projects (including 1 major project). She has been awarded the Excellent Undergraduate Teaching Award and the Outstanding Teacher Popularity Award of the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. She serves as a Technical Program Committee (TPC) member for multiple international and domestic academic conferences, including the International Symposium on Power Semiconductor Devices (ISPSD), the top-tier international conference in the field of power semiconductors. ![]() | Prof. Farhod ShokirUmarov Physical-Technical Institute, National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, Republic of TajikistanProf. Farhod Shokir is a Professor and Head of the Department of Nanomaterials and Technology at the Umarov Physical-Technical Institute, National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan. He previously served as the Director of the institute. He obtained his integrated bachelor’s and master’s degree in applied mathematics in 1997 and earned his doctoral degree in physical and mathematical sciences in 2009, boasting more than 20 years of extensive experience in university teaching, scientific research and academic management. His primary research interests cover intelligent system modeling and simulation, as well as machine learning-enabled design of semiconductor materials and devices. He has received numerous prestigious national honors of Tajikistan, including the "Valiant Labor" Medal awarded by the President of Tajikistan and the National Best Innovator Award. He has presided over 5 national-level scientific research projects with a total funding of over 8 million RMB. Centering on perovskite photovoltaics, nano-functional single crystals, quantum mathematical modeling and other key research directions, he has published more than 200 academic papers and authored 5 monographs. He holds 11 Tajikistan invention patents and a number of software copyrights in Tajikistan and Russia. He has repeatedly participated in high-end international academic conferences sponsored by the International Atomic Energy Agency and the Commonwealth of Independent States on physical technologies in Austria, Russia, Belarus, Germany and other countries. Devoted to the interdisciplinary fields of mathematics, physics and nano-optoelectronics, he has long been engaged in professional textbook compilation and online & offline teaching work.
